Spectacular accident Monday morning on Achenseestraße near Wiesing in the Tyrolean lowlands: the trailer of a lorry loaded with straw suddenly overturned as it entered the Inn Valley. The load then blocked the entire roadway and part of it fell down the slope.
The accident happened just after 07:00 in the morning. The semi-trailer truck was driving through the valley on the B181 Achenseestraße when the trailer suddenly overturned in the municipality of Wiesing. The most important thing first: the German driver escaped with a fright and was unharmed, according to the police.
Road blocked, straw bales over slope
The load, on the other hand, caused major problems: straw bales fell directly on the road, which was then blocked. A few bales of straw also rolled down the adjacent slope.
Numerous emergency services on site
The alerted Wiesing fire brigade went to the scene of the accident – the rescue service, police, road maintenance center Vomp and employees of the municipal construction yard also rushed to the scene to clear Achenseestraße as quickly as possible. It was finally released to traffic around 9:15 a.m. The tilted trailer was put back in place with the help of a crane.
