Russia is said to have already lost more than 200,000 soldiers in the offensive war against Ukraine. 610 enemy soldiers have been killed in the past 24 hours alone, Kiev sources said Wednesday.
As the Ukrainian General Staff announced in its morning situation report on Wednesday, the total number of Russian casualties stands at exactly 200,590 soldiers. The Russian military last estimated their own deaths at nearly 6,000 soldiers in September.
According to military experts, both sides are making inflated statements about the soldiers killed on the other side while hiding their own soldiers. In fact, the losses on both sides after nearly 15 months of war are enormous.
Together with the independent internet portal Mediazona, the BBC has already registered the names of 22,600 fallen Russian soldiers. The number of actual war deaths is probably considerably higher.
