A serious accident happened on the Vorarlberg Rheintalautobahn on Saturday. A deer got lost on the A14 (near Wolfurt) and eventually caused an accident there. The wild animal hit the road around 10:30 am and collided with a car.
A woman (passenger) was seriously injured, she was trapped in the vehicle and was taken to Feldkirch State Hospital after the rescue. The driver (43) and two small children who were in their child seat in the back seat suffered minor injuries. The deer did not survive the crash. The autobahn was initially blocked in both directions, but the blockade in the direction of Innsbruck was lifted shortly before noon. Long traffic jams developed – also on the alternative routes.
