“They mean well” – Schwarzenegger defends radical climate activists

Hollywood star Arnold Schwarzenegger has shown understanding for radical climate protests. “These are people who mean well,” said the 75-year-old. He added, “Maybe they’re just not doing it the way we’d like,” the former California governor said.

In an interview with the BBC, the Styrian resident pointed out that most countries had not yet fulfilled their promises at the UN climate conference in Paris.

The aim is to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees compared to the end of the 19th century. “As a result, people around the world are angry with governments that come up with excuse after excuse for why they can’t do it,” Schwarzenegger said. “People are angry and wondering what to do. So they will do anything because they are angry.”

British government strengthens the right to demonstrate
In the UK and elsewhere, climate activists have also used radical forms of protest such as chaining, taping and painting buildings and expensive artwork to demonstrate for greater environmental protection.
