The Russian administration of the plant has stressed that radiation levels remain at normal levels and has indicated that the causes of the interruption of electricity supply are being investigated.
The Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plantcontrolled by Russia no power supply high voltage of Ukrainian territory, for which it had to connect its spare equipment, the plant reported today on its Telegram channel.
“As a result of the disconnection of the 750-kilowatt power line, the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant is without external power. Power is being exported with diesel generators“, reads the statement.
The plant’s Russian administration has stressed that radiation levels remain at normal levels and has indicated that the causes of the electricity supply interruption, the second since last March, are being investigated.
The Zaporizhia plant is the largest of its kind in Europe and has six nuclear reactors, five of which are cold, with the rest supplying power only for the plant’s needs.
