The 52-year-old went on a trip with his family to the Hebalmsee in the municipality of Preitenegg on Sunday. Arriving at the lake, the man decided to feed the ducks. He slipped on the bank and fell into the lake.

His wife managed to grab hold of the man and pull him out of the water. However, the 52-year-old sustained a serious injury in the fall. He had to be flown to the accident hospital in Klagenfurt with the C11 rescue helicopter.
