Because a ‘Krone’ reader reporter ate his hamburger menu in the car in the parking lot of the McDonalds in Graz for too long, he now has to pay a fine of 65 euros. The bizarre reason: if he had asked if he could park longer to eat, he would have been allowed to exceed the maximum parking time of 90 minutes.
At the beginning of May, our “Krone” reader-reporter lost interest in juicy burgers from the popular fast food chain. The fine of 65 euros fluttered into his house by post. “Violation of the maximum time allowed on site,” the letter reads after he ate his menu with friends between 9:11 p.m. and 11:15 p.m. at the end of April.
Shocked and upset
He tried to contact customer service by email to point out that he had previously ordered something from McDonalds and consumed there continuously. But without success. Shocked and annoyed, he then turned to krone.at to draw attention to the strange handling of the case.
Despite reference to continuous consumption
Because the fast food giant’s answer will leave you speechless. “Let me know next time if it takes a little longer. Our employees always have a solution ready for this matter,” was the curious response to his request for remission of the fine. So I guess that means he wouldn’t have been punished in this case?
A statement from the well-known fast food chain is still pending.
