How nervous is Vladimir Putin? A British intelligence report provides new clues. The Russian leaders are now even afraid of colors.
According to British intelligence experts, the suppression of criticism of the Russian offensive war in Ukraine is taking on absurd proportions in Russia. Authorities are “paranoid” and unsure of what is acceptable in an “increasingly totalitarian system,” the Defense Ministry’s daily intelligence report in London said on Sunday.
Absurd arrests
The public display of objects in the colors of the Ukrainian flag, blue and yellow, is likely to be prosecuted. For example, a nursing home employee was reportedly arrested for showing up at work in a blue and yellow jacket.
Another man was targeted by security authorities for displaying the blue and yellow flag. In the end, however, it turned out to be the colors of the Russian Air and Space Force.
Criticism of the actions of Vladimir Putin and his supporters has come from the ultra-nationalist Liberal Democratic Party of Russia, which supports the war in Ukraine but also has a blue and yellow logo.
The Ministry of Defense in London has been publishing information on the course of the war on a daily basis since the beginning of the Russian offensive war against Ukraine, citing information from intelligence services. Moscow accuses London of a disinformation campaign.
