Riots in Vienna – hooded people threw fireworks at the embassy building

Date:

Witnesses saw a masked, black-clad group of 20 to 30 people throw fireworks at the German embassy in Vienna on Sunday night. The unknown men also set fire to a lightweight packing container. The manhunt has begun.

Before that, the group of people traveled through the center of Vienna. Passers-by noticed them mainly because of their masked faces and their black clothing. The fireworks attack was carried out around 10:30 pm by 20 to 30 people.

The remains of fireworks were made safe
When the police arrived on the scene, the remains of the fireworks were found in front of the building. A heavily smoking lightweight packaging container was also found in the immediate vicinity. The suspects are said to have thrown two pyrotechnic objects into the yellow container, which severely damaged the container.

The State Office for the Protection of the Constitution and Counterterrorism (LVT) is investigating. Police said there was no property damage or injuries.
