A 44-year-old dropped money on the floor while pulling out his mobile phone at the Prater in Vienna, which an Afghan immediately grabbed for. And so began the hunt for the brutal thief…
Two brothers wanted to spend a pleasant evening in the Prater on Sunday. But the crowds at the fair turned into a wild chase. Because when one of them took his mobile phone out of his pocket on the Ferris wheel square, a small amount of money fell on the floor.
Thief fled with money
Although the 44-year-old and his brother immediately ducked, another visitor to the Prater was faster, grabbed the few bills and ran. The duo did not like it and followed the thief (22) on the heels. Finally he was caught. The 22-year-old threw his fist and punched the 44-year-old in the face before continuing his run. Despite the injuries, the victim and his brother ran after the perpetrator. They eventually managed to recapture and detain the suspect until police arrived.
The victim received emergency medical attention from the professional rescue service and the young Afghan was provisionally detained. He did not confess during the interrogation and said brutally: “The man must first prove that he is the owner of the money.”
By the way, this is an amount in the lower three-digit range.
