This is the second of four warnings from CGT, ELA, LAB and ESK for these days. They demand salary increases according to the CPI and other labor improvements. The previous call was widely followed.
The staff of the Michelin plans Vitoria-Gasteiz and Lasarte-Oria (Gipuzkoa), nearly 3,500 workers, are being called for another day of strikes this Wednesday to demand, among other things, “a decent deal” with wage increases based on the CPI and reduction of working hours.
This strike, called by the unions CGT, ELA, LAB and ESK, the second is performed by employees. The previous one, conducted last Monday, had a follow-up rate of 93%, according to the centers, while management reduced it to 54%. In addition to today, there are two other strike days on June 10 and 2.
The template creates paths demonstrations, one during the morning shift (8:30 am) and the other in the afternoon (6:00 pm). The second starts from outside the company, touring the streets of the capital of Álava and ends at Plaza 3 de Marzo.
The aim of the strike is to show the rejection of these factories to the tire multinational’s latest proposal by not linking the tires wage increases to the CPIbut to a reference index linked to the company’s results.
In addition to this wage increase linked to the CPI, the convening unions are demanding the Shortening the working day. Specifically, they ask that the eight annual hours of “development days” be calculated in it and not have to be done during the employees’ days off.
Another discrepancy between ELA, LAB, CGT and ESK with the business proposal is that they have the abolition of entry wages of the agreement so that there is no double salary scale in the company.
