Crooks have stolen a caravan and a “Tiny House” in the Innviertel district town of Schärding. Police are hoping for tips from the public.
“I’m just on the phone,” explains broker Leo Brunnbauer desperately. While with a customer, his “tiny house” and trailer were stolen from the Schärding real estate agency’s business parking lot — believed to be late on the Friday afternoon of June 2, and which was near numerous shops and a recycling center.
Model home for customers
The cottage was locked, it is equipped with beds, a table and heating and serves as a model home for interested customers. Brunnbauer or a business partner is often on the road with the trailer himself, which is why numerous witnesses did not become suspicious when they saw the vehicle in the Schärding area. Only after the owner had posted the theft on Facebook did they prick up their ears – he has since received countless tips – unfortunately without results so far.
18,000 euros in damage
The damage is enormous: the “witch house” including the trailer is worth about 18,000 euros. Police officers from Upper Austria and Bavaria are currently checking the clues, the trail apparently leads to the Bavarian Forest. “I am confident that it will turn up again, after all, it is not so easy to hide,” says Brunnbauer positively. Information requested from the nearest police station.
