How time flies: The week after next spring ends and summer begins. In the coming week, the weather will become more stable, but only moderately warm, according to the Geosphere Austria weather forecast. But the 30-degree mark should be cracked soon.
Locally formed cumulus clouds remain harmless on Monday. Isolated thunderstorms can only form over the Alpine peaks, especially in the afternoon, especially in southwestern Austria. The wind blows weak to moderate, in the northern foothills of the Alps sometimes quite strong from north to east. In the morning it is seven to 15 degrees, during the day 19 to 27 degrees.
Local showers on Tuesday
While cumulus clouds and, as a result, local rain showers, sometimes even thunderstorms, form above the Alpine peaks during the day, the sunny and dry weather character will mainly dominate in the lowlands on Tuesday. However, some dense clouds can obscure the sun here until the evening. The wind is weak to moderate and is likely to be from the northwest to the east. It is seven to fifteen degrees in the morning. The daily maxima are between 19 and 27 degrees. Again it is warmest in the west of the country.
A low in high air layers is approaching from the northeast on Wednesday. This makes the weather a bit more changeable. Especially in the mountains in the eastern half of Austria, the chance of showers in the afternoon increases considerably and thunderstorms are also possible on the south side of the Alps. In the other regions, the sunny weather continues to prevail. The wind blows only weakly. Morning temperatures are eight to 13 degrees, daily maximum temperatures reach 18 to 25 degrees.
Plenty of sun at the end of the week
With a low point in the high air layers in the north, the weather forecast for Thursday remains somewhat uncertain. However, from today’s perspective, the sun will start to shine in many regions before increasing cumulus clouds will form during the day.
Some rain showers are expected in the afternoon, especially above the mountains and in the Mühlviertel and Waldviertel. The wind is blowing weak to moderate from the northwest. The early temperatures are seven to 13 degrees, the daily maximum temperatures are 19 to 24 degrees.
30 degree mark falls?
The low in high air layers will remain north of Austria and will bring quite changeable weather in the western half on Friday with alternating sun, clouds and rain showers. Further to the east and southeast the sun shines longer, it will probably stay dry here too. The wind blows moderately, in the mountains also firmly from the northwest. The morning temperatures are nine to 13 degrees, the maximum daytime temperatures are 18 to 24 degrees.
So the 30 degree mark is still not broken. But if ORF weather guru Marcus Wadsak has his way, the sound barrier could soon be broken. He tweeted: “The wait for 30 degrees is unusually long this year. Now there are the first signs that it could be in 8 days, so 2 days before the start of summer.” However, the forecast is still uncertain.
