On Monday evening, the heavily armed police arrived in Vienna-Favoriten. According to initial information, a man had pointed a gun out of an apartment window. He can be arrested soon.
As the media reported unanimously, around 8 p.m. a large-scale police action caused a commotion in Vienna’s tenth district. Laxenburger Strasse was cordoned off and a short time later dozens of police officers were reinforced by WEGA agents. This operation was also around Rotenhofgasse and Davidgasse. The officers came heavily armed and armored with helmets and protective vests.
After half an hour it was over
The background to the large-scale operation was still unclear on Monday evening (from 10:15 p.m.). Calls were heard because of a man pointing a gun out of an apartment window. After a short time, the suspect was taken from his apartment and arrested. The locks have already been lifted and around 8.30 pm the operation was over.
There were no threats or kidnappings. The man allegedly had the gun legally and was alone in the apartment at the time of the police action.
