Date:

Day 2 of the week-long wave of protests in Innsbruck: On Tuesday morning, climate activists flattened the entire Hötting district of Innsbruck. The participants block different neuralgic points. There are major traffic jams.

After the intersection in the Haller Strasse/Anton-Rauch-Strasse area was blocked on Monday, the climate activists set their sights on an entire neighborhood on Tuesday. Several neuralgic points in Hötting were already blocked shortly before 8 am.

Extensive traffic congestion
There were sit-ins on Riedgasse, Karl-Innerebner-Straße and Speckweg. Witnesses told the “Krone” of extensive traffic jams. The police are there, but do not intervene.

known requirements
The demands of the activists are well known: about 100 km/h on the highways and a ban on new oil and gas drilling. “The rich could afford to live in a climate-friendly and therefore people-friendly way,” says the last generation. However, research shows that the exact opposite is happening. Since 1990, the CO2 emissions of the richest 1 percent of Austrians have increased by 45 percent.”
