An accident occurred in Egypt on Tuesday, killing at least 15 people and injuring two others. According to the state news site “Al-Ahram”, a minibus and a truck collided on a highway south of the capital Cairo.
The minibus was badly damaged. The exact cause of the accident was initially unclear and is currently under investigation.
Repeated serious traffic accidents
Serious road accidents with many deaths occur regularly in Egypt. A collision between a bus and a truck near the town of Asyut in early May killed at least 17 people and injured another 30, some seriously.
Causes of these accidents are careless or aggressive driving and bad road conditions. In recent years, numerous routes have been renewed in the country to reduce the risk of accidents.
