For the ÖVP “a line has certainly been crossed”. The FPÖ called for “all conceivable measures” to be taken legally. Climate activists went to their most dangerous protest in Tyrol on Thursday morning. The transit route par excellence, the A13 Brennerautobahn, was blocked near the Europe Bridge. There was a long traffic jam. In contrast to other actions, the police intervened quickly in this case. The blockade was resolved – an activist was trapped and had to be pulled off the road.

Over 100 ads this week
All seven activists placed advertisements. If you add that of the blockade of the Inn Bridge in the morning, a total of seven members of the last generation were reported in Tyrol on Thursday. About 150 ads have come out since the week-long wave of protests began Monday.

Residence ban for foreign climate activists
Tyrolean FPÖ leader Markus Abwerzger called for “all conceivable measures” to be taken legally. The protection of the constitution must become active and Abwerzger also argued for stricter federal laws.

Foreign climate activists should be immediately banned from entering Austria. To act against the blockade of ambulances in use, Abwerzger demanded an addition to the offense of failure to provide assistance.

SPÖ boss warned the director of the state police
The Tyrolean SPÖ boss Georg Dornauer warned the director of the state police via “Krone” in the run-up to the Brenner blockade. “The director of the state police must ensure that his agents – all of them – act rigorously. Our population will no longer allow these troublemakers to plant!”
