Eva just wanted to travel – disbelief after the attack in Neuschwanstein

Date:

The deadly attack on two American women at Neuschwanstein Castle caused disbelief – in Germany, but also in the homeland of the two victims.

“It just breaks my heart!” Neighbor Debbie Krull lived just a few houses away from Eva’s family – the 21-year-old from Naperville, Illinois, who was abused last week by an American (30) at Neuschwanstein Castle and near the 50-metre-high Marienbrücke was cut into an abyss thrown (see video above). The neighbor still has a hard time processing what happened thousands of miles away in Germany: “It should never have happened!”

Eva and her boyfriend Kelsey were lured onto a trail by the 30-year-old. There he sexually assaulted Eva. When the women fought back, he pushed them one by one down a steep slope – first Kelsey, 22, and soon after Eva.

Both tourists were students. They were in Europe to celebrate their graduation from the University of Illinois. It wasn’t until May that the women passed their final exams in computer science and computer technology.

Brutal action still a mystery
According to insiders, relatives of the surviving 22-year-olds have already flown from the United States to Germany, and the family of the deceased Eva is also expected. Why the perpetrator acted so brutally is a mystery to the investigators. Authorities are hoping for new insights into the case, and videos and photos taken by tourists around the crime scene on Wednesday may also help.

Neuschwanstein Castle is one of the most famous and most visited sights in Germany. It is said to have been the inspiration for Disney’s “Cinderella” castle and it also resembles Sleeping Beauty’s castle at Disneyland. Nearly one and a half million visitors come annually. In the summer, an average of more than 6,000 visitors pass through the rooms of the castle every day, the castle board reports.
