Likewise, it has called the ErNe, ESAN, EUSPEL and SIPE unions to another meeting of the Ertzaintza negotiating table for Friday. The measures in the new proposal would cost more than 18 million euros. “The measures are very positive,” said Josu Erkoreka.
To direct Job problem that exploded in the ertzintzahas the Basque government today presented to the trade unions a new proposal containing 37 measures to improve the working conditions of the ertzainas. It has also called on the trade unions ErNE, ESAN, EUSPEL and SIPE, present at the Ertzaintza negotiating table, for a new encounter: this Friday, June 23 at 9:30 am at the Ertzaintza headquarters in Erandio.
In addition to “general improvements for the whole group,” the Ministry of Security says, the proposal includes “other specific improvements for investigative personnel, gender and domestic violence teams, as well as people’s rescue and security units.”
In an interview with Bizkaia Irratia, the Security Council of the Basque government, Josu Erkoreka, has indicated that the proposal is “very positive” and that it will “improve the situation and working conditions of the Ertzaintza”. Vicelehendakari Primero also confirmed that it is a proposal based on “realism and institutional responsibility”. “The measures included in it would cost 18 million euros,” he has nuanced.
General improvements:
– New mentor program: designed for all agents who want to modulate their activity from age 55 until retirement at age 60 for age reasons: reduction of the annual working day that they can accrue on days off, exemption from night shift work or remaining in it, receiving additional financial compensation and the possibility of not performing certain dangerous or very complicated tasks.
– Economic improvements: 10% increase in the allowance for working night shifts, weekends or public holidays, 20% increase in the amount of overtime on days off or 20% increase in the annual allowance for, among other things, practicing sports and adequate physical maintenance.
– Other improvements (education, leisure and reconciliation): New 50-hour permit for the care of seriously ill first-degree relatives and reduced working hours for the care of chronically ill or dependent persons.
Improvements for 4 specific groups:
– Research teams with flexible hours: The Ertzaintza agents who are working on an investigation and are required to serve more than 7 consecutive days, will be considered economically each added day as a day off, both in terms of the amount of overtime and the compensation for diet or travel. After completion of the investigation, these persons have two days off work.
– New addition for the mountain and water rescue teams of the Surveillance and Rescue Unit: Every time their participation in a rescue operation is accompanied by a helicopter flight, they charge 45.8 euros more.
– New addition for the personnel of the Protection and Security Unit: Evaluated training of 8 hours per day is programmed 6 weeks per year, which entitles you to 40.9 euros per training day.
– Gender-Based Violence and Domestic Violence Teams: Adjusting the job list to expand the workforce of agents assigned to monitor and control gender and domestic violence cases registered by the Ertzaintza. An expansion of the workforce in this area is proposed in all police stations with the aim of reducing the number of files each officer has to handle: from the current average of 75 files per officer to a maximum of 55.
