The graduation party should not end this way: the fire brigade surprised the celebrating graduations in Bischofshofen (Salzburg) on Thursday evening. Two smoke detectors went off.
Shortly after 4 a.m., an automatic fire alarm system alerted the Bischofshofen fire brigade. This immediately moved to the BAfEP (Federal Educational Institute for Primary Education) including fire truck, tank and ladder. But the 20 emergency services struggled to locate the fire. Because the celebrating final exam candidates had previously blocked the escape routes with cling film, chairs and cups filled with water.
After the Floriani fought their way through, they smelled a burning fire near the fire alarm system. Despite an intensive search, they were unable to find a fire. The entire building was checked with a thermal imaging camera and foot troops. After almost an hour, the emergency services were able to re-enter the fire station and prepare for action.
The firefighters asked the fourth high school graduates to go to the assembly points.
The emergency services are calling: the entrances and exits as well as the escape and rescue routes must be kept clear. In case of calamities, rescue workers and people in the building cannot use the blocked paths.
