Tech titans Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg have organized a cage fight – and are causing a stir on the net. Whether the two mean business and actually enter the ring remained open after an entertaining back and forth on the net.
Twitter boss Musk, known for his online provocations and jokes, tweeted on Wednesday that he was ready for a cage fight against meta boss Zuckerberg. Facebook founder Zuckerberg, who is said to have won a jiu-jitsu tournament before, also agreed. On Instagram, he responded with a screenshot of Musk’s tweet and the words, “Send me the location.”
The back and forth of tech rivals continued throughout the week as well. Musk seemed to suggest a venue for the game with his succinct post “Vegas Octagon.” He then added, “I have this great move I call ‘The Walrus’ where I just lay on top of my opponent and do nothing.”
Musk, who will be celebrating his 52nd birthday next week, posted a video of a wallowing walrus. Zuckerberg, 39, has a history of posting videos of herself practicing martial arts.
The exchange between the two tech billionaires went viral on the internet. Netizens posted memes and debated who would win the fight. In a statement from Meta to various US media, the company only said: “The story speaks for itself”. Twitter’s press office automatically responded to a request for comment from the New York Times with a feces emoji, the newspaper reported.
