During a burglary in a bar in Wiener Neudorf (Lower Austria), four masked men stole a safe. The safe was discovered a day later by a hiker in a field. The search for the perpetrators is on-going.
A hiker recently made an unusual find on a remote dirt road near Unterwaltersdorf in the Baden district. A 300 kilogram safe – visibly cracked and emptied – suddenly lay at his feet. The man reported his unusual find to the police.
It turned out that the safe was stolen from a bar in Wiener Neudorf on June 12 by four masked perpetrators. At around 3 a.m., the tank raiders broke into the fast-food restaurant, ripped the safe from its anchorage, then maneuvered it into the vehicle and ran away undetected.
Perpetrators still fleeting for now
On the run, the men probably cracked the safe and threw it away. A day later, the safe was found by the witness. The search for the perpetrators is in full swing, the investigation has been taken over by the National Investigation Department. The amount of the loot is still unclear, according to the first information there would have been cash and papers in the safe.
