Spectacular accident Wednesday evening in Zirl in the Tyrolean district of Innsbruck-Land: an 18-year-old resident lost control of his car on the B171 Tiroler Straße, after which it crashed into the guardrail, overturned and eventually caught fire. The driver and two other occupants were able to free themselves from the wreckage.
According to the police, the devastating accident happened around 11 p.m. The 18-year-old was driving his car on the B171 from Innsbruck towards Zirl when he said a vehicle with high beams approached him and was blinded by it.

The fire service was on site with a total of 26 emergency services. The police, the rescue service and an ambulance were also present. Between Innsbruck-Kranebitten and Zirl, the B171 was closed until about 1:15 am.
