A seven-year-old girl was hit by a tram on Quellenstrasse in Vienna-Favoriten on Thursday. The child was taken to a hospital trauma room with serious injuries.
At around 11:30 am, several teams from Vienna’s professional rescue service rushed to the scene of the accident. The seven-year-old is said to have suddenly crossed the street when she was suddenly hit by a tram. The driver quickly tried to initiate an emergency stop, unfortunately too late.
The child was taken to the trauma room
The child was still reacting after the collision, she was not trapped under the vehicle. “The girl was seriously injured in the accident and, after receiving medical attention at the scene, was taken to a hospital emergency room,” rescue spokesman Daniel Steiner said.
Due to the rescue operation, there may now be different intervals on tram line 6.
