Austria could start with a lot of sun on Thursday. The clouds in the sky have already disappeared in the morning – it remains largely dry. The start of the holiday in the east starts on Friday with plenty of sun and high temperatures, but in the west showers and thunderstorms start early in the morning. In the evening, the weather situation all over the country will be a little uncomfortable …
Before the weekend you can still fill up on vitamin D before it starts raining again. According to Andreas Demel, weather expert at the Austrian Thunderstorm Center (UWZ), it will remain mostly dry on Thursday. In the western mountains, short showers are possible at most. Daily maximums of 30 degrees are expected.
Lots of rain and hail on Friday
Showers and thunderstorms will move west of Innsbruck on Friday morning. In the east, on the other hand, it should remain mostly sunny. During the day, the thunderstorms, some of them strong, spread to the east, sparing the Danube area, the eastern lowlands and the south the longest. Where there is thunder, heavy rain and hail must also be expected.
The sun comes out every now and then
Saturday also starts wet. Heavy showers and a few thunderstorms are expected, especially in the north and east. During the day, the situation should calm down, especially in the west – the sun can be seen again from time to time. Also in the eastern lowlands it occasionally comes between showers. In the northeast, the wind from westerly directions is also increasing. The warmest capital of the state is Linz – up to 25 degrees are possible there.
