On Friday, two earthquakes occurred within minutes in the Gloggnitz area (Neunkirchen district in Lower Austria).
According to Geosphere Austria, quakes with magnitudes of 2.9 and 3.3 were recorded at 6:27 PM and 6:41 PM. The earthquakes were clearly felt in Gloggnitz and Neunkirchen. There was only a magnitude 2.5 earthquake in the region on Thursday evening.
Three months ago, on March 30, in the late evening hours, the Gloggnitz area was hit by a magnitude 4.2 earthquake.
This quake was clearly felt by the population and numerous reports of minor damage were filed. Since then, there have been multiple aftershocks in the region.
