The new high-performance railway line has been in the works for years. It should connect Klagenfurt and Graz in 45 minutes – at a speed of 250 km/h! Safety comes first. And to ensure that emergency assistance arrives quickly, the volunteer fire brigades along the route are specially trained. The local fire brigades in Stein im Jauntal, Peratschitzen, Kühnsdorf and Edling will also become portal fire brigades specializing in tunnel operations. The area extends from the Lind tunnel to Mittlern train station. At 2.1 kilometres, the tunnel in the Jauntal is the third longest on the entire route.
