The provisional agreement between the unions LAB, UGT, CCOO and ESK and the companies providing the cleaning service in Osakidetza is awaiting confirmation at the negotiating table.
Labor unions LAB, UGT, CCOO and ESK have reached a preliminary agreement with the companies that cleaning service in Osakidetza, although the parties are waiting for the approval of the content by the Basque health service. ELA for its part does not accept the pre-agreement as good.
The union majority (LAB, UGT, CCOO and ESK) achieved Last Monday a preliminary agreement with the companies about, among other things, the professional career, the vacancy coverage and the reception contract, that is awaiting confirmation at the negotiating table.
The provisional agreement reached provides for the payment of these employees of the professional career for the years 2021, 2022 and 2023, with the amount corresponding to two calls for the professional career remaining unpaid since 2011.
A week after reaching the preliminary agreement, Osakidetza has not spoken yet. “As long as Osakidetza does not give an agreement, the companies will not sit down to sign the final agreement,” UGT sources have told the Efe news agency, which has warned that until that happens, the group “will continue to mobilize.”
As they have stressed, “once Osakidetza gives the green light, the conflict is over,” which has affected some 2,500 workers in recent months.
ELA: “The labor unions LAB, UGT, CCOO and ESK have accepted the cuts proposed by Osakidetza”
The ELA union does not approve the preliminary agreement, as it believes that LAB, UGT, CCOO and ESK “have accepted the cuts proposed by Osakidetza and the companies rather than continue to fight.”
As stated in a note, it is “inconsistent for the unions that defended the endorsement during the conflict to accept a rebate,” meaning “the continuation” of “worse conditions” for the cleaning staff outsourced by Osakidetza.
As the preliminary agreement of Osakidetza’s approval is due to become final, ELA has confirmed that “it will continue the fight and mobilization until there is a response from” the Basque health service.
