Clues received: – Group plotted attack on police headquarters

Date:

There was excitement in the Carinthia police station last week. As has only now become known, an unknown person had informed the police in a letter that a group was planning an attack on the state police headquarters in Klagenfurt.

“The state Office for the Protection of the Constitution and Counter-Terrorism has taken over the case. For tactical reasons, we do not want to reveal details about the specific content of the letter,” said police spokesman Mario Nemetz. On the day the attack was due to take place, security levels were massively increased and numerous emergency services stationed in and around the state police headquarters.

“Although nothing has happened, intensive investigations are being carried out into the author of the letter,” says Nemetz: “It must be made clear what the stranger meant by the letter and what threat lies behind it.”
