On the night from Monday to Tuesday, a 38-year-old Georgian apparently wanted to play burglar. Heavily drunk, the aspiring criminal climbed through a window in Vienna-Leopoldstadt. However, the burglary did not go as planned as the man was stopped in the stairwell.
A passer-by had apparently caught the burglar on a cool day. It was just after 1 a.m. when a man, equipped with gloves and burglary tools, broke into a window in Vienna-Leopoldstadt. When he then quickly entered the building, an eyewitness immediately alerted the police.
Man caught on time
When the police arrived at the crime scene, they were able to intercept and arrest the Georgian in the stairwell – just in time, as the 38-year-old apparently hadn’t stolen anything yet. It later turned out that the man was heavily drunk and is now being held by the police.
