Animal use for the rescuers of the Red Cross in Hainburg an der Donau in the district of Bruck an der Leitha (Lower Austria): Two small balls of wool and their mother demanded the full deployment of the emergency services.
Four cute balls of wool recently caused a lot of commotion at the Red Cross base in Haindorf an der Donau. Because when Daniel Pilz wanted to drive home in his car at 6 a.m. after the night shift, his eye fell on a mother cat and her two kittens, who looked anxiously out from under a trailer. His colleagues Wolfgang Pirk and Roland Lenhard quickly came to his aid. The house tigers were carefully and patiently picked up by the rescuers.
Lovingly cared for
To the delight of the aid workers: “I would have liked to have taken them home right away,” says Lenhard. While the mother cat and her babies were cared for, the question quickly arose of what to do with the fluffy foundlings. “Where are we taking them?” Pirk asked. With the active support of colleague Thomas Holcik, they were taken to the animal shelter in Bruck an der Leitha. To everyone’s great surprise, two more kittens had found their way there. The joy of the heartwarming family reunion was only tempered by anger at the callousness of the owners.
