First, a 19-year-old in Frastanz (Vorarlberg) lost control of his powerful car, collided head-on with a radar box and parked the damaged car. The driver then fled and hid from the police.
That the ratio between speed demons and radar boxes is not the best was proven once again by a 19-year-old who drove his powerful Mercedes on the L 190 in Frastanz at 9:50 p.m. on Monday. The driver had a friend with him in the passenger seat. thanks to “Probably not an adapted driving style,” as the police put it, the 19-year-old lost control of his Mercedes.
It collided with full force against a radar box, causing the entire box to fly into the air and only to hit the ground a few meters later. The radar box did not survive this “special treatment”.
Passenger picked up in the yard
After the crash, the driver parked the completely battered Mercedes in a nearby company car park and fled on foot. His passenger also fled on foot – but in a different direction. But the latter didn’t get far. The man was spotted by the police in the garden of a nearby house. He also saw the officials – and ran from them. The condition of the fugitive could be improved, because the police caught up with the passenger within a few hundred meters.
Ordered back by phone
The driver was then referred back to the crime scene by telephone. The man will probably pick up one or the other official document as a reminder of the incident.
