On Wednesday alone, 84 Russian artillery strikes were recorded in southern Ukraine. Residential areas have also been affected, according to a Ukrainian military governor. The shelling killed or injured and some are still missing under the rubble.

38 projectiles alone are said to have been fired at the city of Kherson. At least two people were killed and ten others injured, according to Ukrainian sources. Kherson, like the area of ​​the same name, is still struggling with the flooding effects of the destroyed Kakhovka dam. The regional capital has repeatedly come under Russian fire. The enemy is trying to prevent the advance of the Ukrainian troops.

There are currently other attacks, especially in Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marjinka in the east of the country. Airstrikes are also said to have taken place in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions. At Bachmut, the Russian attacks could have been successfully repelled. At the same time, the army is said to have continued its offensives south and north of Bakhmut and strengthened its positions. Missile attack on Lviv claimed four lives
A residential area was attacked on Thursday night in the western Ukrainian city of Lviv (Lemberg). According to the Ukrainian Ministry of the Interior, four people were killed. At least 32 people were injured. A search and rescue operation is underway and has so far rescued seven people from the rubble. More than 60 residents had to be evacuated from the destroyed homes.

Videos show heavily damaged and in some cases almost completely destroyed residential buildings on an entire street. Lviv is home to many refugees – according to the mayor about 150,000 – from the disputed areas in the east of the country. Until June it was relatively quiet in the city for a long time. However, airstrikes increased again after Ukraine launched a counter-offensive in early June.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced “a final answer to the enemy” – “a noticeable answer.” Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyy spoke of the worst attack on his city’s civilian infrastructure since the start of the war. More than 50 houses were destroyed.
