Strangers have debited money from a student’s account. According to the bank, the young woman approved the transfer herself, although she denies it, it doesn’t help. This case shows once again where the dangers on the internet lurk. In Lower Austria, there has recently been more awareness about cyber security – experts are on the road for this all over the country.
The accident took place on an advertising platform. A student (22) from Groß-Enzersdorf in the Gänserndorf district announced the user number of her account there. Shortly afterwards there was 2,000 euros less on the account of the Weinviertlerin. Strangers had transferred the money to a foreign account, half of which was transferred in real time.
