An employee of the company PepsiCo in Etxabarri Ibiña (Álava) has died of a heart attack, the union LAB said in a note. The operator has suffered a heart attack while working at his post, according to the Abertzale union.
LAB has denounced that this is the 26th death this year in Euskal Herria as a result of a work-related accident, the seventh as a result of a non-traumatic accident.
The union center has shown its solidarity with the relatives, friends and employees of the deceased.
“It is true that high work pressure and high rhythms are reported at Pepsico. It is not surprising that occupational risk factors increase cardiovascular problems and affect the quality of life,” criticized the union.
Finally, LAB has made an appeal to participate in the mobilizations that the PepsiCo committee will organize in the coming hours.
