At least 14 people have been killed in a building collapse in northeastern Brazil. The accident had already happened on Friday and the search for survivors under the rubble continues.
A 65-year-old woman and two teenage girls have been rescued alive, according to Pernambuco Civil Protection. The collapsed three-storey building is adjacent to a large residential complex. The apartments in the three-storey building were closed in 2010 due to the risk of collapse, but were illegally occupied.

The dead include an eight-year-old boy and a five-year-old girl. Eleven people between the ages of five and 45 were injured.
In April, another building in the same condition collapsed in Olinda, also in Pernambuco state. Six people were killed as a result.
