A tragic swimming accident took place in Vienna-Donaustadt on Wednesday evening. Since then, a seven-year-old has been in mortal danger. The boy suddenly crashed into a swimming pond in the Hirschstetten district around 7:15 p.m. Witnesses immediately alerted the emergency services.
Fortunately, a swimmer managed to pull the child lifeless out of the water after a few minutes. Police officers began CPR and professional rescue teams then managed to revive the boy.

After resuscitation, the seven-year-old was flown to a hospital with the Viennese rescue helicopter “Christophorus 9”. The boy from Vienna is still in mortal danger there, the professional rescue service reports in a broadcast on Thursday.
The child may have played in the water with other children shortly before the accident. In addition to the professional rescue service and the Viennese police, the volunteer fire brigade of Breitenlee was also deployed.
