Red-handed – That’s how the sneaky shoe thief from Vienna-Hernals works

Date:

Foxes have been causing a stir in Vienna for weeks with unusual outings. They target individual shoes that they steal from gardens. But why do wild animals love our slippers, sports shoes and hiking shoes so much? Animal corner “Krone” asked a fox expert.

At first it was a coincidence, but the stories of stolen shoes in Dornbach and Neuwaldegg increased noticeably. Local residents also shared their observations and photos of found shoes on Facebook, which suddenly miraculously reappeared in other places. Soon a whole gang was caught in the act: little foxes are responsible for the textile search.
