Rival shot dead – regular execution: ‘I killed your son’

Date:

It is like an execution being negotiated in the Vienna Regional Court. A 36-year-old Turk allegedly traveled from Germany to Vienna to shoot his rival there – he pulled the trigger at least six times: “I pulled out the gun and bam, bam, bam!” – a good friend of the victim had to watch…

“You shouldn’t have done that,” were the last words the 36-year-old said to his victim in response to his desperate cries for help. He then shot the 39-year-old man at least six times, according to the indictment. Two shots went straight to the heart.

A woman’s childhood love photo
The prosecutor outlines the motive for a bloody act “driven by jealousy and his tarnished honor”. The 39-year-old has been his wife’s secret affair since September 2021. But the relationship goes back much further: “Can you remember your first great love? It’s a beautiful feeling. But it was precisely this love that became the downfall of the victim. That’s why the suspect traveled to Vienna and killed the man,” said the officer of justice against the jury.

The Viennese victim was the woman’s first great love. However, she married the suspect and had a daughter with him. “It was a marriage marked by violence. In the end, he was no longer allowed to approach the woman.” That is why, after a divorce from the 36-year-old, the woman would have sought refuge with the victim – love flared up again.

When the suspect found out about the love affair on February 22, 2022, he allegedly took his weapon – a pistol – and traveled hundreds of kilometers from Germany to Vienna. In the apartment of the 39-year-old, he then literally executed him.

“He’s Not a Cold Killer”
However, defender Rudolf Mayer does not interpret the at least seven shots as murder: “That is typical of someone who is going crazy.” Someone acting in a generally understandable violent emotional state. “The question is not whether he killed him. The question is whether he did it in an emotional state,” the lawyer pleads for manslaughter on behalf of his client.

Alleged sex videos as the reason for a trip to Vienna
The Turk himself denies any planned intention to kill. He went to Vienna to remove alleged sex videos of his wife and the victim. Jealousy would have had little to do with it. “Of course at first I felt like I was being made fun of. But then I realized that she can hit someone else when we’re apart.” He allegedly carried the gun in self-defense, fearing the man he later shot.

“That was the thought of my wife being there and hanging out with him. And my daughter being there and seeing it. Then I pulled out the gun and bam, bam, bam,” the 36-year-old exclaims in front of the judge.

Fled afterwards to Georgia
The Turk then fled to Georgia, but allegedly called the victim’s family beforehand: “I cleaned my reputation, I killed your son,” the suspect said in cruel terms. A good friend of the 39-year-old had to watch it – they had met to watch the series.

An eyewitness saw his friend die
“I can’t forget this day,” explains the 25-year-old from Vienna. Detached and almost cold, he describes how he had to kneel on the floor next to his friend and how the suspect also pointed the gun at him. He recalls how the victim managed to run to the window and scream for help. “Then he shot.”

The judge is also surprised at the calmness of the witness: “How did you feel in the situation and afterwards?” – “I couldn’t sleep at all. I lost a very good friend. Whenever I went out, I had to look back. Isn’t he there? I’ve been in therapy too.” After the shots were fired, the Turk threatened him: he must not say anything, otherwise he would get the same.

The man faces life imprisonment if convicted under the charges. The “Krone” continuously reports on the process.
