The “Tiroler Krone” speaks with the director of Neue Heimat Tirol, Markus Pollo, among other things about higher rents, whether and when they will fall again, the controversial Innsbruck list of medium-sized companies and “too large” apartments .
“crown”: Mr. Pollo, why have rents become more expensive again?
Marcus Pollo: We have the cost recovery principle. In other words: We must include all costs that are charged to us in the cost-covering rent. The banks have raised interest rates, we have to take that into account. A rule of thumb is that every percentage increase ultimately means one euro more rent per square meter. The price of energy, the cost of waste and gas – all this has risen and we have to pass that on.
