US President Joe Biden plans to attend the NATO summit in Vilnius, Lithuania, on July 11-12. On his trip to Europe, he will also make a stop in Great Britain and Finland, the White House officially announced on Sunday.
In London, he will meet with King Charles and Prime Minister Rishi Sunak ahead of the summit.
After the NATO summit, the American president then travels on to Helsinki. There he wants to meet the heads of state and government of Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden. The Russia-Ukrainian conflict will certainly play a major role in the talks, as it did at the EU summit in Brussels (see video above). The US is seen as supporters of the attacked country.
The CIA relies on recruiting in Russia for espionage
The US foreign intelligence agency CIA wants to capitalize on what it has identified as a growing “revulsion” in Russian society for the war in Ukraine for its espionage activities. “This aversion creates a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for us at the CIA,” CIA chief William Burns said in a speech at the Ditchley Foundation in Oxfordshire, England, on Saturday.
He pointed out that the CIA recently sent a message to Russians on the Telegram online service. It would tell them how to contact US Secret Service on what is known as the dark web, a hidden part of the internet. This message from his ministry was viewed 2.5 million times in its first week.
