Fatal motorcycle accident Sunday in Graz: A 47-year-old man hit a car on Judendorfer Strasse while overtaking and then fell over the guardrail. Unfortunately, all help came too late for the motorcyclist.
A 30-year-old from the district of Gmunden (Upper Austria) drove his car off the A9 at the Graz-Nord exit at around 9:15 p.m. and passed the intersection with Judendorfer Straße at the prescribed speed of 80 km/h. At the same time, the 47-year-old from Graz, who hails from Judendorf, drove at high speed along Judendorfer Strasse towards Graz and turned onto the Autobahn exit behind the driver of the car. He accelerated hard with his engine and wanted to overtake the car on the left.
The driver of the car was not injured
The motorcycle hit the car, causing the 47-year-old to lose control of his vehicle and crash into the guardrail. The 47-year-old fell over the crash barrier and came to a stop on the dike. The motorcycle skidded about 400 feet away. The 30-year-old driver of the car was not injured in the accident. The crisis intervention team was present at the scene of the accident and communicating with relatives in Graz.
