Breaking into hotel rooms instead of going on vacation: According to the prosecutor, they would have done this in more than a dozen cases. According to the indictment, the couple broke into living quarters, especially hotel rooms, in 17 cases.
The pair denied the allegations to the end
The loot: 13,000 euros. With the exception of a burglary in Vienna in 2021, the remaining crimes were committed between December 2022 and March 2023, the indictment said. But the couple has vehemently denied the allegations since the trial began in mid-June — even though investigators found DNA traces from the couple.
The Czech woman’s statement: “The police forced the DNA traces on us.” Which the officials denied as witnesses. In the case of the woman, the prosecutor promptly expanded the charges to include a libel charge. After two days of negotiations, the judge pronounced the sentences and prison sentences on Thursday: two partially suspended prison sentences. The woman was given 24 months, the man 21 months – the two had already served four in jail and were allowed to go home.
