From September 1, the basics of combat use of drones will be taught in Russian schools as part of basic military training, which already exists there as a subject. The educational institutions are responding to the request of ruler Vladimir Putin, who called for the introduction of drone courses at the end of April.
Government circles now say that a corresponding proposal has already been forwarded to the defense minister.
According to the Russian state news agency RIA Novosti, this has already been checked and also approved by the Ministry of Education.
The curriculum therefore provides that the students must be able to recognize and control the different types of drones. It is therefore also important that they learn how to destroy enemy drones. Some schools are said to be already equipped with such aircraft.
Kalashnikov also important
In addition to handling drones, the students must also learn to shoot a Kalashnikov, use hand grenades and administer first aid.
