Birth on video – police officer saves the life of a newborn

Date:

A police officer from Deming, New Mexico probably saved the life of a newborn child on July 24. The man ran a red light, which drew police attention to the family. A baby had just been born in the car – but it didn’t move – the police immediately took action.

Miguel Covarrubias, 24, drove his wife, who was about to give birth to their first child, to a hospital. “I can feel the baby’s head,” the woman said. The man panicked and did not stop at a red light and drove into the intersection. The police officer noticed this and stopped the vehicle.

Police officer as a lifesaver
When the police officer got to the car, the father-to-be tried to explain the situation to him. His son was not breathing. Police officer and father of three, Ismael Perez, knew what to do and was able to help the couple. The child’s umbilical cord was compressed. The police officer had experienced the same thing with his own daughter and had seen the doctors solve this problem. After his intervention, the newborn began to cry after a few minutes. Perez’s quick help probably saved the baby’s life.

The police officer was called a hero. “Any other police officer would have done the same,” the police officer said later. He is happy that everything turned out well. The woman and child were later taken to a hospital and both were released alive and well after a few days.
