President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says Ukraine wants to fight back against Russia in the Black Sea. This should ensure the safe import and export of goods and prevent a blockade, writes Zelenskyj on his website.
Previously, Ukrainian naval drones loaded with explosives damaged a Russian warship near a major Russian port and a Russian tanker.
“If Russia continues to dominate, blockade or shell the Black Sea beyond its territory, and continue to launch missiles into our ports, Ukraine will do the same. This is a fair defense of our chances,” Zelenskyy said on Tuesday night.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan was particularly concerned about the tense situation in the Black Sea. If the war were to spread to the region, it would be “a disaster” for Turkey.
Zelenskyy: Russia will have “zero ships”.
“We don’t have that many ships. But they must clearly understand that by the end of the war they will have zero ships.” He called on Russia to stop firing missiles and drones at Ukrainian ports.
Meanwhile, the Russian-installed mayor of Donetsk, Alexei Kulemzin, accused Ukraine of bombing the city of Donetsk. Three people were killed on Tuesday, Kulemzin wrote in a social media post. Ten people were injured, including a boy born in 2012.
Port areas are increasingly being bombed
In addition, a number of buildings were damaged in several districts, including a bus stop, a hospital, a shop and several residential buildings. In recent days, Russia has intensified its bombing of Ukraine.
