Dramatic scenes played out in the Oberwart district (Burgenland) on Thursday morning. An armed man attacked a gas station in Kemeten and fled with his loot. The search for the robber is on-going.
At 5:15 a.m., an unidentified man entered the gas station. Suddenly, the perpetrator pulled out a gun and held it in front of the gas station attendant. The suspect then demanded cash.
The robber then made off with $500 in cash. The gas station employee escaped unscathed – she was not injured in the robbery. Still, the pump attendant is in shock. She is currently being treated in hospital.
According to the victim, the robber disguised himself with a cap, sunglasses and a white FFP2 mask. In addition, the stranger would have been between 1.75 and 1.80 meters tall and would have spoken perfect German.
An immediate search by the police using the helicopter was negative. The National Investigation Department is conducting an investigation at full speed.
