CPR failed – death trap: drama about e-bikers (86) in Tyrol

Terrible accident on Sunday afternoon in Mutters in the Tyrolean district of Innsbruck-Land: an 86-year-old resident fell on his e-bike and suffered fatal injuries.

The tragic accident happened around 1:45 p.m., according to police. The 86-year-old resident was riding his e-bike on a forest path from Mutters towards Götzens when he was near the Kreither Viaduct collapsed from a previously unknown cause.

The tractor driver has made an emergency call
“A tractor driver who happened to pass by immediately made an emergency call and then gave first aid to two passers-by,” a police spokesperson told Krone. Unfortunately, all attempts at CPR were in vain. “The injuries were so serious that the man died at the scene of the accident.”

This is the next fatal accident involving an e-bike in Tyrol. Already on Friday evening, a 37-year-old Austrian fell in Reith im Alpbachtal while descending over a meadow. He may have overlooked a watercourse. He later died at the accident site. The drama initially went unnoticed for hours.
