Apparently two tourists from France were not satisfied with the view of Milan Cathedral from the ground. The two young men climbed the main tower on Friday morning. They were arrested moments later.
When the two men, aged 18 and 20, were spotted, they voluntarily climbed down so that the police could catch them quickly. It is believed that they hid in the Gothic cathedral when it closed on Thursday night. Detectives are currently investigating this.
Facade of the Milanese gallery smeared
It was the second incident in a very short time with a tourist attraction in the Italian metropolis. Because late Monday night, young people had defaced the facade of the Milanese gallery in Liberty style “Vittorio Emanuele II.” With a large, green inscription. A video shows how the three young perpetrators flee. The identities of the vandals are still unknown.
According to reports from Milan security officer Marco Granelli, there is no connection between the two Frenchmen and the three youths on Monday evening (see tweet above).
