After an insect bite, a police officer saved a woman from allergic shock

Date:

A 34-year-old from Carinthia probably owes her life to a police aspirant, who is fortunately also a paramedic. After an insect bite while driving, the officer cared for the woman until the ambulance arrived.

On Thursday, police officers carried out heavy traffic checks at the checkpoint on the B1 in the municipality of Vöcklamarkt. At around 11 a.m., a car suddenly pulled into the parking lot and the 37-year-old driver jumped out frantically. She told officers that the 34-year-old passenger had been stung by a bee or wasp in the neck or face and was now allergic to it.

woman lost consciousness
The 34-year-old was having trouble breathing and she was feeling very bad, the desperate driver told officials. One of the police officers, an aspiring paramedic who has worked as a paramedic for many years, pulled the passenger out of the car and tried to stabilize her. Since the woman’s condition was clearly bad, the officers immediately decided to take her to the LKH Vöcklabruck. At the same time, the rescue was alerted. On the Hörgatern roundabout, near the bus stop there, the woman’s health deteriorated to such an extent that she briefly lost consciousness.

With the emergency doctor to the hospital
The woman was therefore removed from the vehicle for further first aid and then stabilized. An emergency vehicle that happened to pass the crime scene was stopped by the police officers and the paramedics supported the emergency services until the emergency doctor arrived. The 34-year-old was eventually admitted to the LKH Vöcklabruck in full consciousness.
